ARTIST PROFILE

Since I was little I have interest in artistic painting, because I admired works by relatives of other generations, I was always inspired to develop this ability. I started regular painting in 2013, and since then I have been doing some oil works, a support that I have adopted since then. I have a special interest in impressionist style maritime landscape painting, especially outdoor painting, better known as "En Plein Air", because I think that from photographs we do not feel the same range of sensations, plans and colors as nature provides us. I also like to paint not only this theme, but also any other work that is in sight, even in the studio. I have an academic background in computer science, but I also had an artistic training in the complete course of Painting taught at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon, with the aim of cementing the knowledge I already had and extending my cognitive knowledge and interpretation of the plastic arts. As an artist, I am interested in representing the world around us in the way our natural senses interpret it, and I try to convey those same sensations through my work in painting to the viewer.
